Ukraine Towards the EU: Energy & Climate Agenda
High-level Launch Event Green Deal Ukraina
Kyiv, Intercontinental Hotel
Ukraine is the victim of an unprecedented atrocious war by Russia. Since February 24th 2022, Ukraine lives somewhat in a ´different time zone´: everything has to be fast, efficient, and transformative. Despite the natural military priority, and the daily unimaginable tragedies, Ukraine has committed itself to sustainable reconstruction and wants to be on a fast track to join the EU.
In October, the European Commission will share the enlargement report, stating where the country is on its EU accession trajectory. Kyiv has already proactively prepared through its pre-screening and the National Plan for the Approximation of the Acquis Communautaire. What will be the next steps towards the EU in energy & climate? What is the roadmap here? What is the role of the NECP? How will demand evolve and 2030 and 2040 horizons? What energy exchanges with the neighbours? What are the opportunities for research, innovation, and digitalisation?
Our event will explore the above questions and share the first results of the Green Deal Ukraїna Project.
Green Deal Ukraїna is a trilateral: Ukrainian, Polish, German – project that strives to establish an independent energy and climate Think Tank in Kyiv. This endeavour is founded on a strong partnership between Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin in Germany, Forum Energii in Poland, and DiXi Group and EcoAction in Ukraine.
