Alexander Sicheneder, Energy Policy Advisor at GDU, participated as a speaker in the Second International Virtual Conference on Ukraine on 22–23 August 2025.

Alexander presented the results of the Green Deal Ukraїna Project’s research, “CBAM’s Effects on Ukraine’s Economy and Its Decarbonisation Efforts.” The study assessed how this regulatory mechanism affected Ukraine’s war-damaged economy and its decarbonisation pathway.

The International Virtual Conference on Ukraine brought together high-level speakers from Ukraine and abroad. This year, the international speakers included three Nobel laureates.

The presentations covered a wide range of issues related to the recovery of Ukraine’s society and economy, both of which have been affected by the war.
