Dr Olha Poliukhovych, Vice President for Research and Academic Affairs at National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, went to Helmholt Berlin
It was a pleasure to welcome Dr Olha Poliukhovych, Vice President for Research and Academic Affairs at National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA), to Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) last Friday.
The visit was an excellent opportunity to exchange on ongoing and future cooperation between our institutions. Prof. Dr. Bernd Rech presented HZB and its research activities in detail, while Dr Olha Poliukhovych introduced NaUKMA and its academic profile.
This was followed by discussions with Dr. Tobias Sontheimer, Dr Susanne Nies, Dr Georg Zachmann and Olga Bondarenko on key topics, including our institutional collaboration between HZB and NaUKMA, recent joint activities such as the visit of the German Embassy to NaUKMA, and the first results of the joint Kyiv Energy and Climate Lab (KECLab), future plans.
We also had the opportunity to give a short tour of BESSY II. In the afternoon, we continued an in-depth, productive discussion with the GDU colleagues, Robert Carr and Alexander Sicheneder, and Vladyslav Mikhnych, from Kyiv Energy and Climate Lab (KECLab), It was a pleasure to welcome Dr Olha Poliukhovych, Vice President for Research and Academic Affairs at National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA), to Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) last Friday. focusing on our core work areas: data and modelling, policy analysis, and capacity building.
We also discussed the development of the Master’s programme in Energy and Climate, timelines and formats for collaboration, the PhD programme, and funding opportunities. We look forward to continuing this strong collaboration.
