On 17-18 September, our Data Modelling Officer, Robert Carr, attended the 11th Annual Challenges in Electricity Decarbonisation Workshop, hosted by the International Energy Agency (IEA) and EPRI at the IEA headquarters in Paris.
This exclusive, invitation-only event brought together global thought leaders—policymakers, industry experts, and academics—to address critical challenges in the decarbonisation of the electricity sector.
Key topics included:
- Electricity market designs for a safe and efficient transition
- The transformative role of AI in the power sector
- The impact of decentralisation on system resilience, using Ukraine as a case study.
Lively discussions with a diverse range of stakeholders followed each presentation.
GDU’s presence at such events is both an honor and an opportunity to contribute to the global dialogue on the future of the electricity sector while spotlighting Ukraine’s most pressing challenges.
A big thank you to the IEA and EPRI for hosting this excellent event. We look forward to participating in next year’s edition!
