Stategic guidance for the next phase of Green Deal Ukraїna
Alongside the #URC2026 in Gdańsk, we had the privilege of holding the 4th Green Deal Ukraїna Advisory Council Meeting.
Bringing together leading experts from across Europe and Ukraine, both in person and online, the meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the project's achievements over the past three years and discuss priorities for the next phase of Green Deal Ukraїna and the Kyiv Energy and Climate Lab (KECLab).
Our discussions covered:
- the outlook for Ukraine's energy system and the upcoming winter,
- energy market reforms and Ukraine's path towards EU market integration,
- investment priorities and supporting reforms,
- the further development of Green Deal Ukraїna and KECLab,
- scientific priorities, capacity building, the trilateral Germany–Poland–Ukraine dimension, and opportunities for future cooperation and funding.
The discussion once again confirmed that Ukraine's recovery requires both immediate solutions and long-term institution building. Independent analysis, strong partnerships and investment in people remain at the heart of this effort.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our distinguished Advisory Council members for their continued support, strategic guidance and commitment to our project. We are especially grateful to those who found the time to join us, whether online or in person in Gdańsk, during one of the busiest weeks of the year for everyone engaged in Ukraine's recovery.
Finally, we would like to thank the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR; former Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany) for its continued trust and support of Green Deal Ukraїna and its long-term commitment to strengthening cooperation between Germany, Poland and Ukraine in support of Ukraine's recovery and European future.
