Hourly average of offered and allocated cross-border transmission capacity (Direction: EU → Ukraine)
In the first quarter of 2025, there was a significant increase in both offered and allocated cross-border transmission capacity towards Ukraine during peak hours, compared to the same period in 2024. Hungary continues to be the largest contributor and now accounts for an even greater share of the total allocated capacity than before.
Interestingly, during off-peak hours (21:00–05:00), the allocated capacity in Q1 2025 decreased compared to Q1 2024.
Please note that the Romania–Ukraine corridor operates outside the JAO auction mechanism and is therefore not included in this analysis.
